The SMSC Building Inspection Department ensures compliance with SMSC Codes and Ordinances regulating the construction, alteration, and use of buildings. These Codes and Ordinances regulate all commercial, institutional, residential, and other buildings.

The SMSC has adopted The Minnesota State Building Code with Amendments, as well as all International Codes. Permits are required for building, plumbing, mechanical, fencing, and land use. These permit applications can be found on this web site.

The Building Inspection Department is located in the Land Department in the West Wing of the Community Center, 2330 Sioux Trail NW, Prior Lake, Minnesota 55372.
